Thanks Mr. Heath. Have fun with your nephew. When you get a chance, I'd like to propose a question for you to address on a podcast. I listened to, I think it was #12 from Nov 2009, where you talked about storing guns safely around children. I understand the importance of locking them up, however, I am wondering about what you'd do at night. Eg. there have been a few break ins around my area and keeping the gun locked up where it would take a few minutes to get to I think defeats the purpose of having it for protection. What I've been doing is keeping my EMP cocked and locked under my mattress. When I wake up, I either put it on, or empty it and lock it up. Do you have any advice? Thanks,
Hank

I think you may have confused my opinions on revolvers with what I prefer to carry. For a revolver I do recommend, and prefer, a double action. When it comes to Semi-Autos I prefer something with a good trigger regardless of it being double or single action, and in my experience nothing beats a good single action trigger especially one that has a 1911 attached.. My everyday carry typically includes some kind of 1911 and a snub nosed revolver (Smith 442 or Ruger LCR). I will soon start releasing new episodes and will probably re-introduce the carry tips. Currently there are no new shows as I am spending every bit of my free time with my nephew who is about to go home. thanks for the comment and I look forward to more interaction with you.

I have a question on your preference of your concealed pistol. On an older podcast you said you do not like a single action for concealed carry, only double action. I haven't made it through all of your subsequent podcasts, so maybe you've answered this already -- why don't you like SA for carry? I recently bought a Springfield EMP in .40 cal I plan to use for CC. I am comfortable with it, and like the various safety features. I'm sure there are pros and cons, so would appreciate your thoughts. I am really enjoying your podcasts, and especially like the carry tips section. Thanks for your great work.

Thank you for the completements. The last two shows are suffering in quality due to two hosts and one microphone but I do have equipment on the way to fix that, it looks like there will be one more episode at the current level then things should start improving again.

To be perfectly honest I really don't track my listener count unless something interesting happens, and even then its measured by bandwidth usage. I do have a script I can run to go over the logs and count all apache response code #250 (Complete downloads) for each episode. The problem with that is it under estimates things as a lot of listeners use the iTunes preview feature, or the media player in the show notes. Both of these generate an apache response code 206 (incomplete content). If I had to say how many downloads I see per week I would have to guess around nine to eleven hundred.

As for the buying a Kimber I ended up buying two. The one I talking about buying in that episode is a Custom TLE II, After that I managed to pick up a Pro Covert II that has managed to work its way into my carry rotation as my primary. I do have to say both of those are excellent weapons for carry and I have handled and shot both models.

Once again thanks and please bear with me as I get over this upper respiratory infection and setup some new equipment.

I just found your show in itunes and downloaded all your podcasts. I work from my home and while I work I've been listening to your shows. As I listen, I can tell that the quality is improving every show. Thank you for your efforts to protect my rights bear arms.

How is your podcast going. How many folks do you have listening in a week?

Right now I'm listening to episode 8 and you are talking about potentially buying a Kimber. I'm going to keep listening to hear what you buy. If you don't share that in a podcast please let me know.

I'm a CWP permit holder in Virginia and carry a Walther PPS 40 S&W and a Kimber Crimson Ultra Carry II. Both of these are fine weapons but I have to say I prefer the Kimber.

Please keep up the good work.

Actually most, read "If they have any kind of quality however remote", firearms have the barrel angled up slightly. This gives the bullet a ballistic arc to travel. I would suggest that you read this article <a href="http://www.modeerhunter.com/stories/zero.aspx" rel="nofollow">http://www.modeerhunter.com/stories/zero.aspx</a> and look at the chart in this article <a href="http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.22-250remington.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.22-250remington.html</a> In handguns it is actually more dependent upon the sights used rather than the barrel however we still do see a ballistic arc in handguns as well, see this chart <a href="http://www.chuckhawks.com/handgun_trajectory_table.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.chuckhawks.com/handgun_trajectory_table.htm</a>. The purpose of manufacturing a firearm so that the bullet leaves the barrel with a slight the Z-axis (Vertical) gain is to offset the effects of gravity. This is why a handgun that is zeroed at 25 yards will shoot high at 10 yards and low at 40.

When a bullet leaves a gun it does not rise then fall. As soon as it leaves the barrel gravity takes over and the bullet starts to fall.

Thanks for listening, and thats a nice gun. I have the four inch .40S&W version and love it. I guess you will really appreciate that as part of the 2.0 series of podcasts I will be doing a series on each states laws, most likely going in alphabetical order. But when I do my shoot/don't shoot episode I will try to remember to look into and touch on Idaho laws as well. Just remember I am not a lawyer and my advice could get you arrested and/or convicted.

I just listened to the "Merry Christmas" episode and I'm really excited for one of the episodes you announced--when to shoot and when not to shoot. I've selected my carry weapon (a Springfield XD 9mm subcompact), I've taken a concealed carry class, and I'm waiting for my concealed carry permit. One thing I want to learn more about is when it is lawful for me to draw my weapon, when I can shoot my weapon, and when I shouldn't draw or shoot. You mentioned yor "when to shoot" podcast will relate mainly to Texas law, but I'm sure it will be helpful to me in some ways. I'm in Idaho, and I'd like to request that you include information about how I may go about finding out when I can and can't draw/shoot in my state.

Thanks Aaron for the pocast. I love it. Please keep them coming!!
