I will allow people to get on the CarryTalk program and say what is on their mind, BUT there are rules. Getting on the show is not that hard, in fact it can be as easy as sending an email and making/answering a phone call. First you need to decide how you want to appear. Do you want an “Interview”, or a three minute rant, and finally you can make an extended (preferably as much as five minutes long) rant. In fact if you do an extended rant and need more than five minutes we can discuss breaking your rant into segments that can be added to multiple shows. A rant doesn’t have to have you ranting on it, in fact its just a name.
The rules for getting on the show are the same regardless of how you go on the show. First you need to email me so we can work out the details. As for editing your appearance on the show I will only edit it for length and to fit into the show. Once we have the details worked out we make it happen and you follow the rules. The rules are spelled out below:
Rule 1 : Keep it clean. No curse words, no name calling, no insults.
Rule 2: Keep it on topic. We will set the topic via email, prior to making the call.
Rule 3: Stay polite. You get your point across better if you stay civil.
Rule 4: Send me the links that you mention in the call and links for any quotes or statistics you reference.
An interview takes place where we make arrangements for you to call me, or me to call you, and I record the call. Once I have recorded the call I will edit it as needed to make it fit into the show(s) and I insert it into the show(s). If I can make the interview fit into one show I will, but if I need to I will make it fit into multiple shows.
The second option is the three minute rant. To get on the program with this option you need to email me so we can work out the details. The three minute rant involves you making a call, leaving and voice mail of three minutes or less in length. Once you leave the voice mail I can edit it into the show.
The third and final method of appearing on the show is the extended rant. An extended rant works kind of like a three minute rant. The main difference is how you make it and how long it lasts. First email me so we can discuss what you will be talking about and how you will send it to me. Once that is done you need to record your rant on your computer and send it to me. When I get it I will then edit it into the show, or shows, as needed.
Finally to get on the show you need to know what email address to send your request to, that email address just happens to be podcast@carrytalk.com. You can discuss any topic that relates to the show, even remotely. You can agree or disagree with me, you can even come on to correct me. You can come on to tell us why you think there should be no private ownership of firearms, or why you think everyone should own firearms, or anything in between.
