I have a question on your preference of your concealed pistol. On an older podcast you said you do not like a single action for concealed carry, only double action. I haven’t made it through all of your subsequent podcasts, so maybe you’ve answered this already — why don’t you like SA for carry? I recently bought a Springfield EMP in .40 cal I plan to use for CC. I am comfortable with it, and like the various safety features. I’m sure there are pros and cons, so would appreciate your thoughts. I am really enjoying your podcasts, and especially like the carry tips section. Thanks for your great work.
    Hank.

I think you may have confused my opinions on revolvers with what I prefer to carry. For a revolver I do recommend, and prefer, a double action. When it comes to Semi-Autos I prefer something with a good trigger regardless of it being double or single action, and in my experience nothing beats a good single action trigger especially one that has a 1911 attached.. My everyday carry typically includes some kind of 1911 and a snub nosed revolver (Smith 442 or Ruger LCR). I will soon start releasing new episodes and will probably re-introduce the carry tips. Currently there are no new shows as I am spending every bit of my free time with my nephew who is about to go home. thanks for the comment and I look forward to more interaction with you.

Thanks Mr. Heath. Have fun with your nephew. When you get a chance, I’d like to propose a question for you to address on a podcast. I listened to, I think it was #12 from Nov 2009, where you talked about storing guns safely around children. I understand the importance of locking them up, however, I am wondering about what you’d do at night. Eg. there have been a few break ins around my area and keeping the gun locked up where it would take a few minutes to get to I think defeats the purpose of having it for protection. What I’ve been doing is keeping my EMP cocked and locked under my mattress. When I wake up, I either put it on, or empty it and lock it up. Do you have any advice? Thanks,
    Hank
