UPDATE: I did something during post-processing that distorted the audio.  I am fine tuning things now to avoid this in the future.

This weeks podcast is just me, Yeti is not around for this one, but I have some recording new gear to try out and the sound changes during the podcast as I am experimenting to find the best settings.  I also got in a hurry to get this out the door so I did not edit it as well as I should have.  In the future I hope that I produce a much better sounding podcast since I now have tools that are better suited for the task.

After the news this week I talk about about carrying and using laser aiming devices along with some of the potential dangers they can cause such as this old news piece.  After that I talk a bit about cleaning your carry weapon.

Since the start of the podcast I have received email suggesting that I setup a forum.  Recently a listener emailed me with a very convincing argument for it so I think I will throw a poll out there and let you the listener/reader decide.  But first a little history regarding the domain name:

I think it was in June of 2008 I registered this domain with the intention of setting forums dedicated to the carrying of arms.  After a bit of research and thought I decided not to because there were already a lot of forums out there that did the job very well.  So the domain sat there just in case I changed my mind, then over a year later I got an urge to start a podcast about carrying weapons.  So I went and started looking at domain names to use for that, after about a week I though “What about the CarryTalk.com domain”  its already registered AND it fits the topics I want to discuss.  So in August 2009 the CarryTalk Podcast was born.

Now if I setup a forum it will not be just for the podcast, it will instead cover the carrying of arms such as handguns, long guns, knives, ect. what ever reason.  there would be a dedicated sub forum for the podcast but it would neither nominate nor would it overly influence the direction of the forums.  So if you want a forum then please submit your answer in the poll and let me know.  Additionally if you have any comments and/or suggestions for it then please post them in the comments for this post.

For this to happen there has to be a significant number of positive responses.

Just before I head out to work I want to let you know that Yeti and Myself recorded and edited Mondays show.  We worked on this into the early hours this morning and I think we stopped sometime after 2:00 AM.  The show is edited as best as it can be in what time we have had.  I will not have time to further edit the show before I have to post it so production quality is way down on this one, but the show after that should see a some serious improvements.
